Welcome to Mynith Software. We are (In fact, I am, but "We" sounds more professional) very proud to welcome you.
Let me introduce myself: I am Thomas Lust, and I am 16 years old. Two years ago, I got my dad's old PowerBook.
At that time, the thing was still quite up to date, and powerful. Now, most of its glory is gone, but it is still one of the most beautiful laptops ever made.
Making little chunks of software is what I do. It doesn't really do much, but just the satisfaction of seeing how everything works keeps me going.
The first project I made truly was an outstanding map, made in dim3. However, there was too much copyrighted artwork from the dim3 demo in it to release it.
TarMac, however, is a racing game in which I am doing all artwork myself from the ground up.
Brothers in Piracy (working title) is a fun pirates game, which is being built not only by me, but also by my brother.
iMixPix, an image editor, is near first release stages. It is written in Java, and will therefore be compatible with pretty much any computer on this world.
And finally, iDiscuss, to end the catalog. It is a simple php forum. It is near what I like to call "a stage in which the most important mechanics work",
and will soon be embedded in the website to show it off. For a real release you will have to wait a little longer.
Developing software appears to be seen as a sort of nerd-job. Let me clarify, I am NOT a nerd. Computers tend to interest me because they are such wonderful pieces of engineering. I really like
to see how things work, and how software works. I will not explain because I know I will bore you, but I looked it up. Then I found to make a videogame, an engine
must be used, and I looked for a cheap -and preferably free- game engine. That's how I found dim3. Dim3 is a wonderful thing. It's free, and it truly outstands
other engines, even in higher price classes. But, even in dim3, I develop games in a slow tempo. And I get bored. That's why I need multiple projects to keep it
interesting.
Once again, Welcome. Take your time, and look through my site. View site at Freewebs
